The reconstruction of the Horrea Agrippiana is part of the large and complex reconstruction of the area of the Fora and of the Palatino.

Short history of

Horrea Agrippiana

The warehouses built by Agrippa for the storage of grain are on the south side of the Roman Forum, in a strictly commercial area which extended as far as the Tiber.

The structure was centered around a large court surrounded by various spaces in which grain provisions for the markets of Rome were stored and sold.

Despite its utilitarian function, the horreum must have been richly decorated, as seems to be evidenced by the Corinthian columns and semi-columns discovered in the area and probably belonging to the porticoes surrounding the building.
