Short history of

Village and necropolis of Frattesina

In the necropolis of Narde, about 500 meters from the ancient village of Frattesina, on the opposite side of the river Po, a set of graves was found whose main ritual is cremation, even though there are some rare examples of deposition in the naked ground.

The grave goods generally consists of an urn containing the remains of the deceased and bronze, glass and amber ornaments, as well as bone and horn items. Only two graves, presumably for high-ranking politicians, contained a bronze spade, generally not found in grave goods from northern Italy dating to the same period.
