The Jewish Museum of Bologna was founded by the Jewish Culture Program and an Organizing Committee, formed by the Municipality of Bologna, the Institute for Cultural Heritage of Emilia-Romagna Region, the Province of Bologna and the Jewish Community of Bologna. The institution has the aim to study, enhance and preserve the valuable Jewish cultural patrimony, firmly rooted in Bologna and in many other places of Emilia-Romagna.

The Jewish Museum of Bologna has been set up as a new and unusual museum: it is mainly based on an historical subject, the very ancient history of the Jewish people. Visitors can follow this history through an innovative architectonic, graphic and multimedia exhibition.

Altair 4 Multimedia created multimedia tools to a virtual historical journey in the authentic spirit of Jewish traditions, from its origins to the present day.
The visit has three stages of deepening, or we can say three speeds, from the general one on video, lasting around 30 minutes, to the intermediate on graphic panels, to the most analytical stage on CD-Rom, that has its natural extension into the Centre of Studies and Research.
